Hi, I’m Shilin (Edward) Zhu, a software engineer and M.S. in Computer Science student at Northeastern University in Seattle.
My work sits at the intersection of AI systems and software engineering. I build LLM training and evaluation pipelines, agentic and multimodal workflows, and the infrastructure that makes them reliable. Recent projects include a compact language model for Rust code generation, an open-source Typst symbol classifier, and an agentic platform for AI video creation.
Previously, I built large-scale developer and content platforms at ByteDance, Tencent, and Alibaba. My experience spans Python, Rust, TypeScript, Go, and production systems used by millions of people and tens of thousands of employees.
Outside of code, I’m a shark 🦈 lover, amateur pianist 🎹, and classical music enthusiast 🎵.
